One more thing...
Jul. 10th, 2003 04:17 pmI was reminded today of something... It's nice to have a compass. Someone you can use to judge if you're in the right, or if you really need to rethink your view/actions. It's all a matter of REAL respect, not the shit that people call respect these days. REAL respect. The test is, if you respect someone, they have a good heart and don't mean harm to anyone and do their best to be a good person, you will take their viewpoints about your actions seriously ESPECIALLY if you're in conflict over a moral issue.
Thankfully it doesn't take that situation to know you have respect for them. You just have to ask yourself: Would the one you respect call your judgment into question if you did something they thought was wrong? If you believe that you'd ask yourself WHY they think you're making a mistake, then you DO respect their opinion and most likely them as a person. That doesn't mean that you'd act differently, just that if THEY think something is wrong, it's worth you looking at it again.
Make sense? Like a moral barometer.
