After playing tennis for a while, 10PM rolled around, and it was time to get some more water. After I got into the house, I saw I had an urgent page: Missing aircraft, Eureka area, assemble Aircrews for 7am launch and report to IC as soon as possible. WELL, I was surprised. By midnight, I had a plane, pilot, pilot trainee, and I needed a Scanner... I was Scanner Trainee qualified but didn't want to fly unless I HAD too... well, I had too. I couldn't find anyone else that could go, and of course I'm not going to step out when I'm needed, so BAMN, I assigned myself to the aircrew.

WELL, Jon leaves at 2am, and my JC is seriously depressed and it breaks my heart. NO WAY I'm going to bed when I'm needed by family. And she IS family damnit. I've decided that, and it's not up for debate. After a little bit of talking, some tears, I put her to bed, get her laughing which is SUCH a wonderful sight, hear her tell me I have a big heart (which makes me feel SO warm, just, yeah) while we talk about the mission that I starts in 5 hours and I say "I want to find them, I'll find them, we'll bring them home." JC's the best.

Morning comes, 6am, and I'm outta bed, and in the shower, out the door at 6:40, at the plane at 7am for preflight briefing. I grid my map with our assigned search grid, and prepare for takeoff. Unchain the wings and tail, push back, do a walk around, check radios, intercoms, headsets out, gear stowed, engine start time, 7:22am. After pre-flight checklist and run up, where oil temp was a BIT low... we waited till it came up to the green arc, and then we asked for permission to takeoff. permission granted, runway 19 with a turn to the north. Takeoff roll, airspeed comes alive, all gauges in the green, 55 knots, nosewheel up, all wheels up at 70 knots. Time, 7:37am.

After flying for an hour, we got word that an airplane was spotted at an airfield along the route of the missing plane. Another CAP plane landed and checked it out, and that was the missing plane, safe and sound. We were ordered RTB, mission over. GOOD, he was ok. BUT THAT ASS COULD'VE CALLED TO SAY HE WAS OK! Anyway, we were on the ground, Engine off at 9:22am.

This week, kinda dull, tests, today is my last First Responder test... I'll do fine. 95% I hope! If not, I'll live. Next Semester, EMT-B.
