main differences...
Jul. 29th, 2004 04:08 pmThe party names are very fitting. America is NOT a democracy, it's a Republic. A land governed by law. Namely, the Constitution. Any law made MUST be in line with the Bill of Rights, Constitution, and it's amendments.
The law is an obstacle for Liberals, who would like to simply put it aside via activist judges when it suits their agenda, to hell with the law of the land. They believe their views represent the majority, and therefore trumps any law they see fit to break. That's Democracy they believe they practice, where simple majority rule means more then the laws of the land.
How in the world you cannot see that when you look at the 2 parties, I do not know.
The government is granted limited powers. It's not supposed to be able to do anything that's not outlawed! It's only supposed to be able to act when they have a specific grant of power approved by the people and written into law. Once it's law, government MUST act in accordance with the law, even if it loses the majority of it's public support. UNTIL THE LAW IS CHANGED VIA DUE PROCESS, the law must be followed. That's how the REPUBLICANS work. Democrats simply side step the law via activist judges WRITING new laws instead of enforcing existing laws, or justify their acts as necessary, to hell with the law.
This is the major difference between the 2 parties. You'll see the rest of their politics seem to follow suit. Republicans say "You're an American, everyone has a chance to make it with hard work!" Liberals just transfer wealth from the minority of people that have more money then the majority that are not rich. Just because they managed to write theft into law, doesn't mean it's in line with the Constitution. I don't see "The Government may take from one so another may collect a check and never have to work." in that great document.
They stay in power because people that are angry at the rich are equal to the rich and those that aren't mad that they weren't born with a sliver spoon in their mouth and prefer to work versus getting handouts. God help them when the people that they "represent" figure out that Democrats stay in power by keeping people dependant on them while blaming Republicans for everything wrong in their life. One other party has done that in the not too distant past.
I believe it's Hitler and the Nazis that accused the Jews of keeping the German people down by controlling the money, like Liberals blame Conservatives for keeping poor people down. With that stated, my only question is "Who is the Liberal's Hitler?". The man with the most liberal voting record is the front runner so far... Adolf Kerry.
