Planning a SAREX... That's 15 planes and 5 ground teams, and what they need to look for, how they'll do it, locations, situations, hazards, add Napa's SAR teams or fire departments, Coast Guard, etc, etc. Lunch, hotels, finances, command staff, training, equipment, weather, flight times in and out-bound... Just a MASSIVE jumble that you need to have worked out in your head, and written onto paper and submitted by Jan. 15th. Happy happy joy joy! I did receive my paperwork last night and my new CAP card, Promotion to Lieutenant. *smiles* In addition, I ran across a section that you normally don't see, a note from Capt. Felton to the Wing and Region Commanders describing my taking an active role and why I should be promoted... He filled the entire comments section LOL. I'm doing good things there and its nice to see SOMEONE outside of loved ones saying, "ATTA BOY!". MAYBE one day it'll save someone. Maybe someday our luck will run out and we'll lose people on a mission. I don't know but you can't let that hold you back. It's like being an EMT, the risk to self is worth the reward. I can't wait to hold that EMT Cert... 2 weeks to go. Open Lab tonight, and recruiters for local ambulance services I believe.
This morning has been busy as hell, but ok. Nice to see Stace before an early start time, especially since I had my phone on silent and would've SLEPT through the alarm if she hadn't called me to get me up and out of my room. CLOSE CALL.
I ended up meeting someone that Stace was having a back and forth with on EMA, and I looked at other threads, and at the user info, and it's awesome. Tori, Mraz, Poe icons, they read like my radio plays during a day =) I look forward to talking to someone new and adding another friend to my page... That's all for now...
