I got to board Al Capone's old boat, the Starfjord (built in 1931), at Bethel Island. The Captain accidentally activated the EPIRB when he was moving things around, so we got a page for an ELT/EPIRB near Oakley/Antioch, CA. After a few hours of driving, then some search time, we found it. THESE THINGS ARE HARD TO FIND AT NIGHT SOMETIMES!!! Power lines fool your instruments, and you don't even SEE THEM in the dark unless you point your flashlight skyward. Short Short version, it's a cold night, we have a 4 person CAP UDF team, a fire engine, paramedic supervisor, and 3 sheriff's deputies as we enter the marina where we think this ELT/EPIRB is coming from. We found it, the Sheriff Sgt. that was our primary contact was impressed and is sending a letter to the Wing Commander singing our praises. It was a good night, but I missed Stace, felt bad I didn't get to send off Marty and Roni (I felt like I ditched everyone).
Very proud of Stace and choices she's making to better her life, she seems to be happier everyday. Jess is doing well in classes which is awesome. Kat's happy, bitchen. Bremms is good, got to see her recently, I DON'T SEE HER ENOUGH! Danielle is good too... Mandie is chipper as always. 5 of my CAP friends got to fly in the So. Cal search after I nagged the IC to let us launch for a week, so they love me lol. 22 flight hours between them. That's about it.
