Quick Update...
Mar. 26th, 2004 07:37 pmIf your boss likes to make adjustments to a site you manage, DON'T LET HIM DO IT WHEN YOU PLAN TO WORK ON THE SAME SITE. Simple concept... If I'm adjusting product A, and he's adjusting Product B, which is on the same page as product A, who ever hits SAVE last, wins.
I would enter a product edit in, hit save, I'd see the change. 5 minutes later, my change is erased and a different item edited instead. I'd do my edit again, to find it erased 5 minutes later AGAIN, and a 3rd totally different edit made in it's place. I thought to myself, "I'VE FORGOTTEN HOW TO DO MY JOB?! I'VE LOST IT! I MUST HAVE GONE OFF THE DEEP END!!!!????" One call to the boss, and I find out he's making edits and I've been erasing his shit too over the past 3 hours. FUNNY HUH?! Fucking internet...
That's your Webmaster's tip of the day kids.
Excited about the SAREX, starting to get requests for shit, and I haven't even sent out apps for it yet. Estimate is now 75 total people. 17-20 base staff, the rest are field (aircrews, ground teams, field observers). We also have about 30 people from Napa, Marin, Coast Gaurd, etc.).
I'm the project officer. Wish me luck. I've never, EVER been asked to do something like this before. I'M GOOD AT THIS. I CAN DO THIS. NOTHING CAN STOP ME.
