Well, Rancho Adobe Fire District interview, went really, really well. Now if they'll just free up the training budget I'll start in-house training and start going on calls... I'm still doing physical test prep getting ready for the PAT. 3:30 to do the following:
Shuttle runs stacking 5 coils of hose on the back of an engine.
Put on and secure my SCBA (airtank)
35 foot ladder climb... TWICE.
Grab another 30 pound hose pack and go up 3 stories of stairs.
Drop hose and lean out a window at the top of the tower, start pulling up another roll of hose using NOTHING but my arms, up all 3 stories.
3 minutes, 30 seconds allowed time.
Training includes getting up at 6:30am for 7am weight training, get home at about 8:25, shower, and off to work. Plus on the weekends I'll either go to the woods, some hillside trail, or like last weekend, Point Reyes National Seashore. UP AND DOWN 30 stories of stairs. I can trot up 80 stairs, which is about 33 feet vertical climb, or 3 stories. That's without a pack or anything, but after 1/2 mile of walking uphill and going down the 30 stories first. SO, I think I need to start adding a backpack with books, or I'll bring Jen there with Ahnna, and carry Ahnna so I can simulate an airpack and hose lol.
Tax time, I get back $1400. Nice. =)
