IT'S BEEN TOOOOO LONG
Mar. 24th, 2004 03:58 pmAlright, first off, we did find the plane on the Napa search mission. No survivors. What do you expect when you have a plane underwater for a week before it's found? In this case, well, there's some details that I really cannot go into about contributing factors, including other aircraft in the area. One of our ground teams actually found an old murder victim. Some bones, confirmed as human. Homicide detectives were called in by our Ground Team. They say they think it's a case that was already solved. Someone confessed to the murder of a young woman a while ago but the body was never recovered. Until now that is.
I was asked by the Operations director if I would be available to go aboard the barge that was going to be used to remove the plane and victims from the Napa River. I was honored. It's not everyday CA State OES and the NTSB invite a CAP officer aboard a recovery vessel. CAP decided that since CAP had no official job to do there that it was best that no CAP officers be at the recovery site. I say it's a blown chance to meet people that I may work with on future missions, but it's not my call to make.
Stacey's Birthday also happened, and it was a blast. There was too much drinking, people were too loud, but at least the cops weren't called. How would I have explained it? "Oh, I'm sorry officer, we're having a 21st birthday party! Wanna drink?" *cuffs come out*
Stace didn't like the cake or food much that night. It was part overload of people and things, part stress, but it all worked out in the end. She really liked one of the little side presents I gave her. A mug with a cute bunny that says, "Your morning breath smells like butt." IT'S GREAT! Yes, I'm a big kid sometimes, WANNA MAKE SOMETHING OF IT?! lol
School... I dropped one class. It was too much with everything going on. I'm still in Fire and Cardiac Arrhythmias. I pulled a 95% on my last major Cardiac test. Not bad huh? =) Next major one is tomorrow. Sinus, Atrial, and Junctional rhythms. Wish me luck. I even have someone asking me to study with them tomorrow before class. It's nice to know you present what you know well enough that someone will ask you for a hand. Awesome. Fire is great too. I think I managed a 105% if you include the bonus questions.
Work is work. Things are more relaxed, but more stressful when Jim is gone. It's ok though. I think I'm almost back to good from fair. I need some rest, some sleep, and I'll be great next week.
LESLIE! It's awesome! I'm glad she and Stace are getting along so well (again). We're a trio of friends that have managed to spend 2 weeks together without going too nuts. We also think that time is too short and we know she has to leave next Monday. It's TOO SOON. Leslie, we love you to death, and will miss you a bunch! I'll see you when I come out to Nashville, PROMISE! Maybe you should just drive out and have a Sunday dinner with my Father and my extended family out there. I bet you'd cream yourself over the snicker pie among other things. You know, I have great friends and family, but the SENSE of family is much greater out there. It's a cultural difference I think.
That should do it for now!
